Nebraska Transition Conference

We are very excited to have you participate in the virtual 2021 Transition Conference, Dream It! Plan It! Do It! The conference will kick off on February 23rd. Additional breakout sessions will be available in a seminar format starting the first week in March. Breakout sessions will be released for viewing, March 2, March 9, and March 16. The conference will focus on how to plan for and best prepare transition age students for post-secondary life. Breakout sessions will cover topics in student focused planning, student development, program structures, and parent involvement.

Keynote

This year’s keynote speaker, Dr. Aria Fiat will deliver a keynote address, “Sailing Through the Storm: Supporting Young Adults and Ourselves Amidst Uncertainty.” Dr. Aria Fiat is a school psychologist and a fellow of pediatric psychology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.  Dr. Fiat’s work as a clinician, researcher, educator, and advocate focus on enhancing the capacity of systems to promote behavioral health and wellness, with an emphasis on supporting the educators and caregivers who help children thrive. Dr. Fiat is the creator of The Seven C’s: A Toolkit for Caregivers Coping in a Crisis. She is also a co-developer of the Adult Resilience Curriculum (ARC), a wellness-promotion program that has been implemented in school districts across the country to counteract educator stress and burnout.
